Water Damage Above Affects the Unit Below in Waterbury
Sometimes what goes on in a neighbor’s home affects others. In this Waterbury home, evidence of water damage to the ceiling is evident from the discoloration on the ceiling. The cause was from a frozen pipe in the upstairs unit. Water ran from the broken pipe onto the floor above, seeped into the floor joists, and came through the ceiling below, saturating the dining room ceiling, walls, and carpet. SERVPRO techs opened the ceiling area for drying and performed flood cuts on the wall areas that wicked water and removed sheetrock that had no restoration potential. The techs dried and cleaned the carpet in place, along with most of the affected furnishings, to limit disruptions to the home.
